MEMBERSHIP NOTES

DUES RENEWALS

So far this year, the dues renewal rate continues to be very good! You guys are doing a great job! Please keep it up, and a Thank You goes out to all of you.. Later this year, the reminders will go out for the Life Members who are on the installment plan (a good deal!). But if this means YOU, you can help by sending in your installment payment ahead of time to save us some work.

FIRST CLASS, MAC! - UPDATE

As stated in the last issue, we are not using Bulk Rate Mail for our mailings. A couple of our Members have volunteered to look into reducing our mailing costs. As things develop on this, we will keep you posted. In the mean time, Thanks to you who have stepped forward.

VOLUNTEER NEEDED - UPDATE

Member John P. Newport (9th MEB, VMA(AW)-533), of Woodstock, GA, has answered the call and has volunteered his services as our Membership Chairman. He has been nominated and has received more than a sufficient number of “seconds” for the position.

NOMINATIONS

To date, three Members have received nominations to offices in the Association. As reported elsewhere in this issue, please get any nominations in as early as possible. It will make the National Business Meeting in November run much smoother. Don’t delay! Kindly let Phil Beckerich (Tel: 914-232-6623) know if you are interested in getting involved with your Association or have nominations to present.

SICK BAY

A “hurry up and get patched up” goes out to our good friend and supporter Russ “Robby” Robinson
(VMFA-323) who recently had a hip and a knee replaced. Robby says that he is coming to the Reunion!

Another Marine on the mend is our loyal, good buddy, supporter, and all-around bon vivant Jim “Swampy” LeJeune (VMFA-323, VMO-6), who had major hip surgery (again!). Swampy sends that he is “getting there” and likewise will make the Reunion (probably because he is getting on Donna’s nerves now that he is healing up??
